Fear The Boom And Bust by The Emergent Order

Sometimes the Gift of Gab raps about how tired and boring rap lyrics get, always on the same topics. He falls into this trap himself, delivering mediocre spiritualism, brags about his skill, and of course, complaints about how bad rap lyrics are these days. Okay, lots of rappers do this, but Gift of Gab is one I like.

Fear the Boom and Bust is a model for finding something else to talk about. It's a war of words between economists J.M. Keynes and F.A. Hayek, on their opposing views of the cause of the boom and bust cycles.

I recommend heading over to Econ Stories and watching the video. It's a perfect caricature of the two author's positions.

Fun Is For The Feeble Minded by The Indelicates

It's just perfect that a song called Fun is for the Feeble Minded is by a band called The Indelicates. It's got smashing lyrics and an awesome energy that makes it great fun. Pardon my feeble mindedness.

Keep All Your Promises by The Sober Irishman

The Sober Irishman had a strong entry for Keep All Your Promises, but got it in late. Oh well. He'd be facing a tough field anyway, and his audience still gets to hear it.

Gasoline is a little slower and more mellow than your typical take from Out of It, but it's still full of cleanly produced pop hooks and silly self-deprecating lyrics.

Toasted Sushi Bar by That Crooner From Nowhere

Listen to Toasted Sushi Bar with headphones. There are two astonishing facts about this song. One is that it still sounds decent in headphones at 128kbps. The other is the odd asymmetry the listening experience. I felt whole time like I should be turning my head to the left.

Using air bubbles as lenses I see the outside. I suspect the world is not what it seems by Cherly Kacherly

Using air bubbles as lenses I see the outside. I suspect the world is not what it seems. It's more pretty, but always strange. Rhythmic, with digital pulses mingling with analog bells and strings.

As always, it's better in vorbis.

Eggshells by yes.no.yes

I thought yes.no.yes had disappeared into the internet when their site was no longer available, but Last.fm hooks me up. It's the percussion that really wins me over on Eggshells, particularly the booming drums.
